Refugio “Cuco” Castaneda passed away  Friday, March 14, 2025.  He is survived by his wife, Maribel; son, Ivan Isaac; mother, Robertina Figueroa; parents in law, Florentino Garcia and Alicia Gentil and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today, Thursday, March 20th from 5-9PM at Sheets Funeral. The Funeral Mass Friday will be at 2PM, at St. Edward Church.

Maria M. Vazquez passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. Maria is the mother of parishioner Jose Vazquez and grandmother of Nico and Nina. Maria was married to her husband Jose Refugio for 55 years. She is survived by children Norma (Anthony) Barrera, Jose (Crystal), Bruno (Patricia), Araceli (Ventura) Lechuga, and Mario; grandchildren Cristina, Lizette, and Mark; Nikolas and Nina; Jonathan, Jeremy, and Abigail; Lucas and Bella; Mario and Matthew and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Maria will take place Friday, March 21, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave. Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Funeral to follow Saturday, March 22, 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Church, 4130 147th St. Midlothian, IL 60445.
